Transportation

transp_b.jpg (7906 bytes)The method of transportation is a major factor determining the product prices. Consequently, we have developed two main forms of shipment – container and conventional.

Container shipment

"just in time"

Container shipment is an ideal solution since it enables you to order on a "just-in-time" basis in relatively small quantities so as to reduce your stocks to the required minimum without affecting your ability to maintain supplies in accordance with market demand and thus reduce your storage and inventory costs.

Minimal handling

The more an absorbent mineral such as Alganite® is handled, the greater the quantity of dust produced. Container shipment ensures minimal handling. Under this transportation method the Alganite® is poured directly into the containers without being handled by crane. On arrival in Europe, the containers are transferred by truck with a tip chassis to the packer. The product can be dumped into a hopper or dumped onto a pile, again without the use of a crane.

Regular-type containers

We have the possibility to ship standard (closed) 20 ft. Containers. Each containers holds about 19 tons.

Conventional bulk shipment

In certain cases transportation by conventional bulk shipments may be less costly than container shipment, as in the case of shipment to ports levying high terminal handling charges and where inland container transportation costs are high. The smallest quantity of Alganite® that can be transported conventional is about 1,200 tons.
